Terms of Use
Last updated: October 5, 2026
This English version is provided for convenience. If it conflicts with the Turkish version, the Turkish version prevails.
These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and Serhat Taşdemir (“Flok”, “we”) governing your use of the Flok mobile app and the website at flok.ist (together, the “Service”). By signing up for or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms. If you do not accept these Terms, do not use the Service.
How your personal data is processed is explained in the Privacy Policy.
1. Definitions
- User: Any individual who uses the Service.
- Organizer: A User who creates and manages events through the Service.
- Attendee: A User who applies to or attends an event.
- Event: A meetup, activity or gathering published on the Service, taking place online or in person.
- Content: Text, messages, photos, images and any other material that Users upload to or share through the Service.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
- If you are under 18, you may only use the Service with the consent of your parent or guardian; your parent or guardian is deemed to have accepted these Terms on your behalf as well.
- You may only apply to events with an age limit set by the Organizer if you meet that limit.
- People whose accounts were closed for violating these Terms may not create a new account without our permission.
3. Your account
- The information you provide at sign-up and on your profile, especially your date of birth, must be accurate and up to date.
- Your account is personal; it may not be transferred, sold or left for someone else to use.
- You are responsible for the security of your account and sign-in details. If you notice unauthorized use of your account, you must tell us immediately.
- Impersonating another person or using a misleading identity is prohibited.
4. Flok's role
Flok is a platform that helps Users create, discover and get together at events. Unless expressly stated otherwise, Events are organized by Organizers, not by Flok. Flok is not a party to, organizer of or insurer of Events; it does not guarantee the content, safety, quality, legality or occurrence of Events, and it does not verify Users in advance.
Flok does not provide staff, stewards, security or entry control services for Events; it only provides the platform, and the tools on it, that Organizers use to create and manage their Events. Verifying Attendees at the Event entrance and running the Event are entirely the Organizer's responsibility.
Some event information published by Flok's official account may be compiled from publicly available sources, including with the help of AI-assisted tools. This information may have changed or may be inaccurate; we recommend checking the Event's official source before attending.
Attending in-person Events is your own choice. You are responsible for taking reasonable safety precautions when meeting people you don't know.
5. Organizer obligations
As an Organizer, you agree:
- to state the Event's name, description, date, address, rules, capacity and age limit accurately and completely,
- to obtain all permits, licenses and approvals required to hold the Event and to comply with all applicable laws,
- to verify Attendees at the Event entrance, yourself or through people you appoint, using the QR ticket and verification tools provided by the Service, and to check the age limit you set at the door,
- to provide, yourself, the staff and measures needed to maintain order at the Event venue and keep Attendees safe,
- to inform Attendees in good time if you cancel the Event or change important information about it,
- to use Attendee information you access through the Service only to run the relevant Event, not to process it for any other purpose or share it with third parties, and to comply with personal data protection laws regarding this information,
- that if you charge Attendees outside the Service, you alone are responsible for that payment and all related legal obligations.
Flok does not act as an intermediary for payments between Organizers and Attendees.
6. Attendee obligations
As an Attendee, you agree:
- to follow the rules of the Event you apply to and the Organizer's reasonable instructions,
- to cancel your attendance in good time if you can't make it to an Event you were approved for,
- to use the QR ticket issued to you only yourself, and not to copy, alter, sell or transfer it to anyone else.
The Organizer may reject the application of, withdraw the approval of, or refuse entry to Attendees who do not follow the Event rules.
7. Karma score
The karma score is an indicator of a User's reliability in the community. If you don't show up to an Event you were approved for without cancelling, your karma score may be reduced. Karma scores and titles have no monetary value and cannot be transferred or exchanged for money. We may change how the karma system works, with prior notice.
8. Your Content
- You own all rights to the Content you share.
- By sharing Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free and sublicensable license to use, store, reproduce, adapt (e.g. resize) and display your Content on the Service, limited to the purpose of operating, providing, improving and promoting the Service.
- This license ends when you delete your Content or your account, except for excerpts quoted in other Users' replies and technical backups kept for a reasonable period.
- You confirm that you have all rights and permissions needed for the Content you share. In particular, you are responsible for obtaining the consent of people who appear in your photos or whom you tag.
- Content you share may be seen by other Users; the visibility of Content is explained in the Privacy Policy.
9. Prohibited conduct
When using the Service, you may not:
- Publish unlawful, fake, misleading or fraudulent Events or Content.
- Engage in harassment, threats, bullying, hate speech, discrimination or violence.
- Share obscene or sexual content, or engage in conduct that exploits or endangers minors in any way.
- Share other people's personal data, photos or private information without their consent.
- Infringe the intellectual property rights or personality rights of third parties.
- Send unsolicited commercial messages, advertising or spam.
- Promote or facilitate weapons, drugs, illegal gambling or other illegal goods and services.
- Scrape the Service with automated tools, collect its data, reverse engineer it, try to circumvent its security measures or disrupt its operation.
- Manipulate karma scores or other systems through cheating, or create fake accounts.
10. Reporting, blocking and enforcement
- You can report Users and Content that violate these Terms to us from within the app, and block Users you don't want to interact with.
- We review reports and may remove Content and Events that we consider unlawful or in breach of these Terms without prior notice.
- Depending on the nature of the violation, we may warn you, restrict your access to certain features, temporarily suspend your account or close it permanently.
- We may share unlawful content and related information with competent authorities in line with our legal obligations.
11. Paid features
The core features of the Service are free. If paid features such as a Flok Pro subscription or Boost, which lets you promote events, are offered in the future, the following provisions apply:
- Purchases are made through the Apple App Store using the payment method linked to your Apple Account and are subject to Apple's Media Services Terms. Prices are shown in the App Store before purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period and price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel your subscription in the Subscriptions section of your Apple Account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
- One-time purchases such as Boost are services made available to you at the moment of purchase.
- For services performed instantly in electronic form, there is no right of withdrawal under Article 15(ğ) of Turkey's Distance Contracts Regulation. Refund requests are evaluated by Apple under Apple's refund policy.
- Price changes are announced in advance in line with Apple's rules.
12. Intellectual property
The Flok name, logo, app and website design, software and all content other than User Content belong to Flok or its licensors. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes; no other rights are transferred.
13. Third-party services
The Service includes third-party services and links, such as Apple, Google, map, weather and image providers. Your use of these services is subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy or uninterrupted operation of third-party services.
14. Changes to the Service
We may change, add or remove features to improve the Service. The Service may be interrupted for maintenance, updates or reasons beyond our control. We do not promise that the Service will run without interruption or errors.
15. Limitation of liability
- The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”.
- Flok is not responsible for the conduct of Users, Events organized by Organizers or any loss, damage, injury or dispute arising at those Events, User Content, or third-party services.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, Flok is not liable for indirect damages, loss of profit or loss of data.
- These limitations do not apply to damages caused by Flok's intent or gross negligence, to harm to life, body or health, or to liability that cannot be limited by law. Your rights under consumer protection law are reserved.
16. Indemnification
You agree to compensate Flok, in proportion to your fault, for damages Flok suffers due to claims brought against it by third parties because you violated these Terms or applicable law, or because of Content you shared or an Event you organized.
17. Account closure
- You can close your account at any time in the app under Settings → Delete My Account. When you delete your account, the Events you organize and their data are also deleted; this cannot be undone. If you have an active subscription, you need to cancel it separately in your Apple Account settings.
- If you violate these Terms, we may suspend or close your account under Section 10.
- Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (e.g. limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law) remain in effect after the agreement ends.
18. Apple-specific terms
If you downloaded Flok from the Apple App Store, the following terms also apply:
- These Terms are concluded only between you and Flok, not with Apple. Flok, not Apple, is responsible for the app and its content.
- Your right to use the app is limited to Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the App Store Terms of Service.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance and support services for the app.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
- Flok, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app or its use, including product liability, regulatory compliance and consumer protection claims.
- Flok, not Apple, is responsible for the investigation, defense and settlement of any claim that the app infringes a third party's intellectual property rights.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a United States embargo and that you are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms; upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
19. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey. For disputes in which you act as a consumer, the consumer arbitration committees and consumer courts at your place of residence or where the transaction took place have jurisdiction, within the monetary limits set each year by the Ministry of Trade. For other disputes, the courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul (Central) have jurisdiction. Consumers residing in the European Union retain their rights under the mandatory consumer protection laws of their place of residence.
20. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always published on this page with its update date. We will announce changes that significantly affect your rights in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
